Ultrasounds

An ultrasound uses sound waves that can be aimed at organs inside the pelvis. The waves echo off of the organs, and a computer creates a picture from the echoes. The picture can show an ovarian tumor. For a better view of the ovaries, the device may be inserted into the vagina, called a transvaginal ultrasound.
